Weekend Getaway: Glamping in Sindisa Sanctuary, Healdsburg

Have you ever tried glamping? I have always wanted to try and when my friend found out about this place on Hipcamp, I knew I had to give this a try..

Sindisa Sanctuary is located at the edge of a large meadow with beautiful views of Mount St Helena and surrounding hillsides. The drive there was pretty easy with beautiful views left and right. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Marcia who gave us a tour of the property as well as introducing us to some of the animals.

The tent that we were staying.

Everything was set up nicely for the four of us, including the extra bed on the floor.

Yes the horses do roam freely. That's what makes this place so great because how often can you get this close to horses? Casper, the white horse seen on this photo, is pretty much a dog trapped in a horse body. He would come by a couple of times to our seating area near the pool for some carrots. What a charmer.

This place has a kitchen that allowed us to grill some meat come dinner time.

They also have a spring fed swimming hole on the glampsite. It was too cold when we visited but can you imagine how fun it would be to dive into the water during summer?

Early morning in Sindisa Sanctuary is just pure magical. The horses decided to join us to enjoy sunrise. Words can't even begin to describe how breathtaking the view was that morning.

Now the real heart stealer is actually the guard dog, Naya, a Maremma Sheepdog who stayed with us during our stay. She’s the sweetest and one of the smartest dog I’ve seen who’s so good in keeping the horses in line and also always demands a good belly rub.

The next morning, Jennifer came in to feed the animals and graciously invited all of us to join her. We got to meet the rest of the animals at Sindisa Sanctuary that include alpacas, pigs, more horses, and cows.

Thank you Sindisa Sanctuary for having us. It was a weekend beyond magical and an experience I couldn't find anywhere else <3
