An opportunity to take a week off work came out during my transition to a new team so I gladly took it. There were a couple of contenders on which destination I wanted to go next but because I was still on National Park high post Arches, I chose Yellowstone and Grand Teton as my next destination. Some highlights if you’d like to see..

Out of all of the national parks in the United States, Arches was one that has been sitting pretty high on the bucket list. As someone who often (and prefer to) travels on the weekends, it became really hard to plan for a trip to Arches National Park because it’s quite impossible to be conquered in two days.
When Memorial Day Weekend was approaching, I finally decided to book plane tickets to Salt Lake City and headed towards Moab where Arches National Park is located at. The excitement leading towards the trip was far more intense than any other trips I’ve planned in the past :)

There are many people who are against traveling with a guided tour group.. I actually swear by it :) It took away all the stress in the planning and long hours driving. And if you're like me who has a full-time job and only travels on the weekend, sometimes a guided tour group is exactly what you need to get to places that you want to see in the shortest amount of time.
I really wanted to visit both Zion and Bryce National Park this time but we only have a day to do it so..

Living in the Bay Area, though it comes with great weather, we don't get to see a lot of Fall color around here. After doing a bunch of research and finding out that the closest destinations are still pretty far (Eastern Sierra), I decided to take a shot at visiting the greatest national park that happens to be sitting in our backyard... Yosemite.. and see how she's doing in the Fall.
I mean.. wow. Not bad for a view! This turns out to be the most rewarding trip I've had in 2017. It's the first time I experience Yosemite in a different color, different smell and vibe. I absolutely love it and if anyone's visiting, I highly recommend to visit during the Fall because it's also less crowded.
We stayed at a newly built Yosemite Valley Lodge nearby the park's entrance and my gosh it was gorgeous. We wish we could have stayed longer.
The hotel's excursion guide recommended us to hike at Tuolomne Grove where we'd find giant sequoias nestled in it. It was a loop of about 3 miles with moderate elevation when coming back. The hike could be done in 1-2 hours depending on how fast you walk. We spent almost 3 hours there admiring the view and trying to take photos of all the different types and shapes of trees. It was amazing.
Here's my itinerary if you're interested..

When I proposed going to Denver to my friend who usually travels with me, I did not get the excitement that I was hoping to get. I had my doubts too when planning for it initially but the plane tickets were cheap so I went with my guts and a couple of weeks later, we landed in Denver..

For my next national park adventure, I wanted to go to Grand Canyon and Antelope Canyon. I’ve been to Grand Canyon once with a guided tour and though it felt a lot like a tourist trap, you still can’t deny that Grand Canyon is a natural wonder and be awed by it. Here are some highlights from the trip..

My goal for 2017 is to visit as many national park as possible. To kick off the year, I picked Yosemite as my first national park to visit because not only it is the closest to where I live, I heard Yosemite looks pretty good in the Winter.
